THE CENTER

FOR BLACK EXCELLENCE AND CULTURE

Madison is continually recognized as one of the best places to live in the United States. Unfortunately, that has not yet been true for its Black residents. Wisconsin is regularly named the worst state for Black people in the country, and Dane County’s racial disparities are among the state’s most extreme.

Our city’s Black community is ready for a renaissance, along with a place to celebrate their culture and plan their advancement. With your support, The Center for Black Excellence and Culture will bring this to Madison.

In addition to fostering a sense of community and providing space for connection and growth, The Center for Black Excellence and Culture will:

GET TO KNOW OUR FOUNDER

Rev. Dr. Alex Gee is pastor of Fountain of Life Covenant Church and founder/CEO of the nonprofit Nehemiah Center of Urban Leadership. In partnership with other worship, business, health, education and community leaders, he hopes The Center for Black Excellence and Culture will bring together a collective Black brilliance that will affirm, inspire and advance the Black community.
